Default About to shave the front bumper...

I bought an APR lip for my AP2. I'm about to go have it painted and mounted and decided that there are enough rock chips on my front bumper that I'm going to repaint it at the same time. Since I'm doing that I'm just going to shave all the holes on the front; license plate mount, emblem, and tow hook cut out.

Am I going to regret shaving the tow hook cut out? If I ever need towing on a flat bed will they still be able to pull it up and tie the car down with out messing something up? Is there a tow hook available that mounts and extends out of the stock front bumper in the radiator area?

What do you guys think?

I know in Honda's directions for the OEM front lip they recommend removing the front bumper if you ever need to have the car towed.

I hope that you have a better experience with the fitment of your APR lip than I have had.

What problems did you have fitting it? I was test fitting it a little and it seemed like it was a little tight and they might have to do some sanding to get it to slide all the way in place...which seems like how you would want it. Too loose and sloppy would be bad...

Mine was a little bit beyond too tight. I don't see any way that mine could be made to fit. I made the mistake of having it painted before fitting it, 'cause of my lack of experience with aftermarket fiberglass parts.

Here's a picture:

And here's how the bolt holes line up...

This gap isn't very pretty either...

It's been shipped back to APR and I don't really want to say anything else about it since I'm still in the process of having things resolved.

Hopefully you won't have the same issues though.

Yes there are tow hooks that will come out the front grille area. I believe GT Motoring sells them in the group buy section.

Leaving the tow hook cutout doesn't look bad. I was debating weather I should have it shaved or not, so I went with not.........just in case.

I sell tow hooks. They are similar to the J's tow hooks. A few guys on here have them.
