Ive been told that if im going to stay NA that an AEM ems is overkill.... what do you guys think? i know i could go with a vafc and save a lot of money, but will it be able to extract as much power?

For me I would say use the AEM it will give you a better tune all around and if you want to upgrade later you will be good to go...

Not really over kill. it will make your car run soooooooooooooooo Much better, get better gas miliage and you will get about 10whp. plus like what he just said it will be best to have incase you want to upgrade later. Overall your car will have better gains

Definately not overkill and WELL worth the money. Im using the VAFC2 just cause im cheap. I did gain about 8whp with the tune at WOT, but you cant tune mid-range with the vafc2 unless you reset your ecu every week.

Ive seen gains up to 20whp on an n/a s2k with full bolt ons. And if you ever do decide to go FI youll already have the engine management part down.

Check out the greddy e-manage ultimate. Good balance, fairly cheap and still gets pretty good gains.

You can find the older 1012 models for around 8 or 9 hundred used. The tune should be around 2-3 hours and typical hourly rates are 150/hour.
