Default Adjustable castor rods, camber kits, toe rods.

Hi all, I am trying to find adjustable castor rods (front) and camber kits (front and rear) and possibly even adjustable toe rods (rear) for the AP2.

Can anyone tell me who makes them fer the AP2? Especially adjustable castor rods, I can't seem to find any.

Cheers, J.

The stock camber, castor, and toe is adjustable through a fairly wide range.

Several companies make parts that *may* be what you're looking for, but hard to tell ... for instance, TC Designs, J's Racing, T1R and Megan all make rear anti-bumpsteer kits that allow you to play with the rear toe a little bit more than you could w/ the OEM stuff, but it's really only necessary if you're lowered fairly low. Spoon, J's Racing, and *I think* T1R make roll center adjusters that adjust your roll center if your car is lowered substantially to get everything to work better, not sure how they react to stock suspension, but I don't know if your car is lowered.

Yeap the standard arms allow fer adjustments in castor, camber and toe, but i want more castor, which i've already maximised at +6.6degrees, and i'm also looking fer a bit more front camber, which i can't get unless castor is reduced. The amount of toe I can get fer the rear is actually sufficient thru the standard arms, so is rear camber, which opens to slightly more than -3degrees. My car is lowered on coilovers, and i dun think i can go any lower without having trouble going to many places, in fact i already have some problems with some angled carpark entries and speed bumps.

I know what caster is but just out of curiosity, how does it change the "feel" of the car when it is adjusted?

Edit: Sorry about asking a question in your thread btw.

Thanks

I know a few possible ways, but unless I really had an in-depth discussion with you about the rest of your setup and suspension needs, I wouldn't want to advise you on which way to go. However, there are a few shops that I know could advise you -- I would talk to at least one of these shops:

Science of Speed (USA)
PasswordJDM (USA)
AJ-Racing (Canada)
Speedstar (Canada)

They should all be able to guide you in the right direction, since they all sell a wide range of products and also track S2000s regularly. Good luck

Dan! How are u mate?? The SPC adjustable balljoints are mainly fer additional camber adjustments yeah? How much castor are u able to get at the moment? I was thinking that about 7 might be quite good to have, not too sure if the guards inside would rub though.

Having more caster reduces the need fer so much camber, in a way it's camber on demand, so it helps give better turn-in without sacrificing straightline braking. How much caster a car has is worked out between camber and toe, with some cars having adjustable aftermarket castor rods that can really increase castor by as much as 2 fold.

zbrewha863: Thanx mate..well i might drop the shops u recommended with an email or something...i'm not located in the states, so giving them a call to have a lengthy discussion might be quite costly. Currently I am on HKS Hipermax 3 sport coilovers and i run bridgestone re55s semislicks on the Sepang F1 International Circuit. My car is still rather stock without much mods.

Jyo, I am good thanks. I can't remember the exact caster but I have more than 7 and 3.5 negative camber at the front. I can go more with the spc but I don't I need to because the car turn in well enough.

The SPC is bang for buck and of good quality. There are others but the cost was the determining factors

Dan, so you are able to get more than 7 caster just by using the SPC adjustable ball joints and lowered on coilovers? Do u rub the inner fender guards having more than 7 caster and -3.5 camber?

Wot are the other options that might be more costly?

Yes that's right. I don't have any rubbing and the wheel alignment shop said that is not the max yet either.

Other brands are J's racing, Ikeya, and TC upper control arm. There are a whole heaps more but I think you should try the spc first. The spc is cheap and easy to install. I think Rob posted a DIY thread somewhere. Use the search for spc and rob Jyo.
