Default adjusting konis?

ok so the bf just got some konis we are trying to figure out how to adjust/move the circlip, snapring, what ever it is called from perch one to the lower perch. if anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated. also the top bolt on another spring seems to be loosening and twisting but not rising off... any ideas...?

If the top bolt is loosening and twisting but not coming off, you're probably spinning the whole shaft - try to hold the shock piston with a wrench to prevent it from spinning.

The circlip is easily removed/replaced with a pin wrench, but I assume you don't have one. You may be able to rent one at an auto parts store. It has two pins that fit into the holes on the clip and spreads the clip apart as you squeeze the handles together.
