Default Advice needed for a clutch Replacement

Hi everyone

My clutch is almost gone and its time to be replaced, I have a 2003 model, not modified with anything and I was thinking if it is better to use a different clutch than the OEM to have a better grip and longer lifetime, someone told me that I can’t use a racing clutch system on an unmodified car, is it true?

Thanks

No, It Is not true. OEM Is good even for modded cars ( i.e. regular bolt ons)

I have an ACT HD pressure plate and street disc mated with a Fidanza flywheel. Been rocking that setup for 3 years now and it still holds strong. Might as well use better parts since your will be taking it apart anyway. OEM is good but this setup is better by far.

One of your options to consider:

Ebay is the cheapest!

Exedy OEM is same as Spoon street clutch. Holds well, double springs on the disk opposed to single spring on OEM Honda. Smoother/lighter petal.

I'm getting an ACT HD-ss1 installed and should be done tomorrow.

I will let you kno how it fairs out compared to stock.

Also, I aded an aftermarket lighter flywheel since the one on there was toast and had a lot of hotspots on it already.

This clutch kit is awesome. Clutch pedal is way firmer than stock but this is a good thing. You'll like it.
