Default AEM UEGO AFR

Are the Aem AFR widebands reliable or even worth getting?

Cool things , but I won't pay this much money if you are not doing your own tuning. I bought mine AEM AFR and it started having problems after about 1.5 years since I had it.

ask around in the FI forum. i asked there a while back and got a LOT of feedback. a lot of people said it was verified accurate by tuners, a lot said it sucked ass.

It only works as good as the users abilty to read it. I use one, seems to be easy enough for me to tune to and accurate. Its been highly recomended as one of the better units out there. I have only had mine in use for about 6 months. $225 for the kit is what I paid on sale, sometimes I have seen them as low as $200 on sale in the past. They just made an update to the unit with some feature I gathered when looking on up for a freind recomendation, so you may not get them this good of a deal for a wile. I think they retal for about $275-300.

Mines been great - reliable & easy to fit
Only thing I would say is it bounces around as the AFR is VERY dependent on rpm and throttle position.
Neither of which are very constant

As normal, but when you floor it, it shouldn't "hunt" anymore, it will be steady with some slight movement depending on how flat your AFR tune is. Of course your AFR's will fluctuate some day to day depending on weather conditions, but should still stay flat. If you ride the brakes wile flooring it, you can better depict the AFR at a given rpm and then flaten your tune if needed. In a steady throttle state other then idle and partial throttle, your AFR's should be pretty steady/flat. Just my 2 cents
