Driving in rain is not the problem. Driving through deep puddles or flooded streets is a big problem.

Also, you must plug the drain holes on the passenger side of the engine bay along the hood rain rail. The water that drains from these holes comes down directly on the filter and will pool in the first elbow of the intake. It will not take much rain to cause enough water to pool in the elbow to hydrolock the motor on start-up.

i have aem v2 and actually hydrolocked couple years ago. it was my fault, i didn't see the puddle whatsoever. It had to of been at least 4 inches deep. thank God my engine was fine. havent had a problem since.

I dont have any holes plugged. I usually dont drive the car in the rain, but have gotten stuck in some monsoon style downpours. I've also ran an entire track day in the rain. Yes...it rained the ENTIRE day. There was lots of standing water on the track. High speeds, big puddles..no problems.

Make sure you keep your fender liner as intact as possible. You have to cut a little peice out.

Where exactly should I plug the drain holes?

have been running the AM v2 for over a year, and i have been caught in a few storms, but no problems so far. if you're careful, you should be fine. from other threads that i've read, deep puddles and being parked in a downpour are the main problems. i have an injen hydroshield over my filter, and that eases my mind.
