Default Aftermarket steering wheel / keeping cruise control

Hey Guys, I've been doing small things to my02 for awhile now, but I have never done anything involving changing the wiring so I'm a little skiddish. I have searched on the forums and found a few threads that talk a little about the cruise control wiring.

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/486...#entry10468579

Talks about which wires do what. From the above thread:

" Common - either Blk/Wht or Blu/Pnk
SET - Blk/Red or Lt Grn/Red
RESUME - Blk/Grn or Lt Grn/Blk
"

I ordered a "SPARCO SINGLE BUTTON KIT" from http://ltbautosports.com/spsibukit.html

With all that said, what I am trying to understand is, do I just hook up the "common" and "set" wires to the horn button and all is well, or is there some more to it than that?

Thanks in advance!!!!!!

I think you meant to say Sparco button, not horn button. But yes, that's all you need to do.

I relocated my cruise control buttons to my cup holder in the centre console. I have an AP2, so I only lose one spot.
It was so easy putting it there, didn't have to cut any wires, plus it's hidden, and looks clean.

Sorry for the shitty dark iphone pictures.

Basically all I did was crack open the spindle that connects everything together in the steering wheel.
Its the black thing that allows you to turn the wheel without binding the wires. Inside that it's just ribbon, take out the ribbon, I think there is one plug you need to reconnect with the main harness, run that ribbon wire back into the dash and then into the centre console.
I think I almost had enough to reach the rear compartment (not that you would want your cruise control buttons there).
I did have to cut up the cruise control buttons, about a half inch off the bottum so it sits flush, then cut a whole for the connection to go through.
No need to cut any wires.
I have an 06 though, so not too sure what differences there are between it and older models. (AP1 etc)
Hope this helps anyone.

Wow that's a really neat idea. Maybe I will have to get more creative than a large obnoxious button
