oh yea i did lol ive looked up and torn apart the k&n intake, it looks good but im not a tremendous fan of the plastic tubing, and with the ct intake it seems really high end and after looking on thier website in oreder for it to work properly according to thier standards i need a new exhaust header and whatnot. i guess im concerned that with the ct and all the other stuff neded for it to work well.

It should work well alone. Just when you have supporting mods like exhaust or header it shows better gains.

You'll be fine with just adding an intake, it won't hurt anything and it isn't required to have a new header and exhaust to get any benefit from the intake itself. I personally have the K&N and the sound is absolutely intoxicating. Yes it does have plastic tubing but it isn't a charge pipe so you'd never really have to worry about it. I've also heard good things about the AEM systems and personally I think the passwordjdm piece may be nice but is extremely overpriced.

ok ill deff rethink the CT-E ice, and i totally agree on the major over pricing on the password jdm one, its nice but my god. i looked around on the cte and i cant figure out if itll work on an s2k 01 edition. im sure it will but will i have to do some mods like cutting the ap1 lip?

It says it fits from 2000 to 2005 part number 320-030. The CT-E intake does not require any cutting.

I have an AEM V2. Sounds awesome in the higher rpms, and the vtec engagement is very noticeable (I have an AP1). I could listen to the sound all day, and I still have the stock exhaust with cat in place. Nearly everyone who has ridden with me comments on the sound. Haven't ridden in a car with the K&N system but my guess is that they sound silimar since they are siliar setups with open filters.

You do have to make some cuts to get the tube and filter into position. The filter now sits just above the splash shield on the front, right hand side of the car which is pretty low and I am still at stock ride height. Some people will worry about hydrolock, but I only get my car out on nice days so it's a non-issue for me. You'll have to research that and reach your own conclusions.

Does it make power, probably a little, this was on the car when I bought it so I cannot compare it to the stock intake. I think it looks decent, but it's basically a painted tube so there isn't relly much to see. With the stock intake out of the way and that single tube, I pretty much have unlimited access to the front of the engine, not that I really need it that often. Overall I like it. Would I purchase one again? Yes

+1 for the AEM V2, I've seen them for less than $400 shipped. Shop around.

I daily my car and it's been very rainy. NO hydrolock issues at all, but I do dodge puddles as best as I can.
