it wont ruin the wheel but it'll weaken it very much, best bet is to have them painted professionally, in and out.

still unknown if this wheel is PCed but the thread has very good information about PC weakening wheels

I would NEVER run any PCed wheel on the track.

forged aluminum wheels need to taken care of properly in order to strip the coating and apply a fresh coating.

its not the powdercoat proccess that changes the strength of the forged aluminum wheels....Its the proccess people use to strip the old material so you can lay a fresh powdercoat.

"most" places use a HOT Salty bath to strip the old coating off. This will change the wheel structure if soaked long enough.

The PROPER way is to "COLD" strip the wheels. There are many places that do this and it does not change the wheel structure.

I have spoken to OEM mfg and Aftermarket wheel mfg's and they all use Cold stripping to remove the old coating before applying a new coating.

SO CAL people.....SPECIALIZED COATINGS is the place to go!!!! they have done MANY of my forged aluminum wheels and they know what they are doing!!!
