Default another annoying VAFC question

so my VAFC1 is installed. yay. In my year of ownership, I have always tried to search and read as much as I could on tuning, and tuning options. For the price and my current setup, I think the VAFC1 will do what I need for now.

I know that partial throttle tuning is pointless unless you reset the ECU every few days (for a dd) and WOT setting will stay.

I am also curious if there have been any advancements made with VAFC since most threads are several years old.

I want to keep my partial throttle tune, but I dont see myself crawling down to pull a fuse every week. I am also concerned that when my ECU resets, it forgets certain things, like not to rough idle whenever I come to a rolling stop with my AC on- and yes, my IAC valve is clean, and I did a map whack. It seems like it only "smooths" out after a months worth of driving after an ecu reset/battery disconnect.

What I'm wondering, is if anyone can fathom a way to rig a quick switch to reset the ECU so that it can be readily accessible, or some other crazy DIY contraption that would make life easier to have a partial throttle tune AND have the ECU do its learning job without erasing my VAFC settings.

Based on the mods listed in your signature, there's no need for a part throttle tune. In closed loop, the ECU will do just fine at keeping AFR on target with good throttle response. Just do a full throttle tune, and set the VAFC to start applying that tune at 80% throttle. There will be no benefit from resetting your ECU if your tune is good, and you use good gas.

Oh, and if you haven't already done it, get spark plugs that are 1 step colder than stock, like the NGK BKR8EIX (gapped to .040").

you would only tune for WOT, if you want more power in part-throttle, then depress the gas pedal more...
