another coilover suggestion thread
Buddy Club RSD's are very harsh. Definitely not DD friendly, or street friendly whatsoever.
Go with the PSS9, I'm sure they'll go low enough. You probably won't be slammed, but it'll be a nice height. The S doesn't look that good when it's too low. My car is actually too low ATM, I want to raise it a bit.

My car is lowered about 1" on pss9s, rides great, handles great. On the front, there's probably 3/4-1" of additional lowering adjustment available (although that would be below Bilstein's recommended operating range). The threads on the rear shock body don't go much lower, maybe 8-10mm (1/3") from where I have them set right now.
If you want a quality street coilover, don't look any further. If you're trying to slam the car, keep looking. I bought my set off a guy who was flipping them because he wanted something that could go lower.

i heard the apexis are pretty soft and can go lower..can anyone justify this?
now its between buddy club n specs, bilsteins, or apexis.
remember im not going for performance really, just a nice ride, and lower.

i don't know why people are saying the bc racing spec coils are harsh. are you all 70 year old women?
the bc rsd coils are 10k springs, and they have 15 way adjustability for stiffness. it can be as soft or as stiff as you like. chances are whoever you rode with had it set at a stiffer setting, and you never tested all the other softer settings below it.
if you think it's harsh, i'm willing to bet whomever you rode with didn't buy the pillowball mount also. it makes a huge difference. bad idea to cheap out on it.
if you're just doing it for looks, then the N+ would be fine. actually, if i were doing it just for looks like probably go tein flex w/edfc. that thing is so cool...but not really a performance upgrade.
but the bc coils with the upper pillowball is an upgrade over stock suspension in terms of performance which is hard to do for $1600+.
like i said, if performance isn't your angle, then look into something cheaper. but there is really no way you will be dissapointed with the bc racing spec coils either ( as long as you get the upper pillowball mount ).
one other thing....only listen to people who have the coilovers your thinking about. a lot of these coils have multiple settings of stiffness that the owner flips through to find what they like, or what they want for that day. just cause one person sat in a car on one setting, doesn't mean that is the only way those coils will ever feel.
it's all personal preference, and you don't get that experience in the passenger seat. i like a mildly stiff ride for daily. i'll increase it for canyons or whenever i finally get my ass to the track. if i ever were to take a road trip, i'd just turn the dial way down to the softer settings.

so are you saying for street only, the racing spec is still better all around?
if so, they arent too much more, i can just get them over the n spec.
yes. much better all around for street than any of those you've listed.
but you have to spend the extra cash for the upper pillowball mount.
but if you're just going for looks, megan, apexi, n+, all those are just fine too and i think they have multiple adjustment settings too. they won't handle as well, but you can set them to some softer, cruise settings.

pretty sure the megans are fairly low... as in crazy chassis to the floor low... then next stage up is the buddy club n+ kit.... then i think you just go up another height for the tein, KW and Bilstein...
I was set on a set of KW but since i won't be tracking it will be overkill and 'slamming' the car is more what i want... so the megan or buddy club is on my xmas list now
Best place is probably to go the the official SLAMMED thread where you can see pictures of the car at different heights and you can see exactly what you want and ask the people that own them directly.... that's what I will be doing over the next couple of days. So look out Megan owners
