Anyone gone from HKS dual to HKS 75mm single?
SubscribeAs title states. I have been thinking of getting the HKS 75mm single for my sc'd ap1.
I currently have the HKS dual exhaust with a test pipe. I also have the cylindrical resonator removed and the other resonator was gutted a while ago as well.
So I am thinking the single might not actually be much louder than my current HKS. Mine is pretty damn loud especially since the sc makes exhausts louder.
Hopefully someone has done this change and can chime in.

Well since no one said anything I guess I can comment.
I haven't done this but I would assume it would still be a good amount louder. Was thinking about switching my duel for a single. I am SC with a test pipe and dual exhaust as well. I have heard some turbos with a single with test pipe and they are very loud.

Surprisingly the new HKS isn't that loud for a 3" single, I bet it's comparable with your current gutted dual HKS since you pretty much have no resonators at all. It will be hard for people to compare since yours is probably quite a bit louder than a normal HKS dual with both resonators in place. I say just get it, it most likely won't be much worse than what yours is now.

Mine def isn't loud at all for its size do it! why not get the berk?
The Berk probably (as in, I'm not 100% sure) makes more power, and it's also a straight through design. It will be louder under load than the HKS too. The only real "benefit" that I can think of is that you can order it all v-banded, which is great if you're turbo.
Yeah want the quietest I can get. Hks seems to fit the bill.
Being supercharged it makes the exhausts louder instead of quieter like turbo.
Would think they would both make about the same power but who knows.
If I do get the hks single I would take it to the dyno for before and after to see what, if any, gains were made.
For that that have had both, does the exhaust note sound basically the same? From the videos they sound almost identical.

I know it's not quite as big but why not try out something like the T1R 70 em single.
I just got one and it is REALLY quiet for being a 70mm single, it's also proven to give pretty good gains.

Well not wanting to spend much really and curious to see the gains going 3" single with my sc setup from the 60mm dual.
Only $600 shipped brand new for the hks single which is hard to beat.
