Will changing my air intake to K&N intake alter
Looking to do a simple mod on my AP2 and thinking of gettng K&N air intake system for $300 on ebay. I really like how the stock engine sounds so will this mod alter the engine sound noticeably? anyone have this on their S?

From what it sounds like you're talking about the K&N FIPK, and it's a very popular choice for s2000 owners. I use to have it and it is a nice intake, and is a lot louder than the OEM airbox. It sounds great though, hums at idle and roars when you hit vtec. I would highly recommend it to anyone for a good intake. Also i'm pretty sure you can get the FIPK for less than $250 new on Ebay also.

I have or rather had the FIPK and loved it. The only thing from the FIPK I have left on the car is the box.

Yeah I got mine off Amazon awhile back for $227 shipped which I thought was a pretty good price, anything over 250 is paying too much.
I liked the OEM box sounds but I really prefer the K&N intake, it gives a nice lower growl and becomes more noticeable when you hit the throttle or is going above 4k rev.
I'm happy with it now and I don't see myself planning to go back to OEM box or any other intake as of now

I have the K&N FIPK on my AP2 as the only mod. I really like the sound over stock which tends to be quite quiet. You will notice it when you rev (say half to full throttle). If you drive mildly around town, similar sound to stock. A nice growl at WOT from any RPM (does not have to be above 6k). I don't know if it actually made more power but the sound makes it worth it. Quality was excellent. Highly recommended.

After you install it, you'll basically only hear the intake once you hit vtec!

with the top down I could literally hear mine over my HKS dual exhaust. I now have the OEM exhaust and the PRM intake (which is just as loud as the FIPK) and it sounds amazing going into vtec on a quiet road with the top down.
