Default Ap1 to Ap2 front

Tried finding in search and couldn't

I'm buying a ap2 front bumper and hardtopguy says you also need a 04+ splash guard. Is this true? I would like to not cut/modify up MY00 splash guard to fit so if it's not direct bolt up then I guess I'll buy one.
Before I order it is it truly necessary?

No it is not necessary. The DIY guid that answers your questions should be in S2k Modifications and Parts sub forum at the top in the stickies.

Yeah you do not need it. The reason they say that is because a few of the holes don't line up 100%, most of the bolts do line up though. With the ones that aren't lined up just use some good zip ties and it will be fine.

also, look into getting the ap2 support beam b/c the ap1 beam will poke through the bumper causing it to crack. i heard its like $50 for that peice and is held by 2 bolts.

edit: its not $50, its $124.30.

Most just grind or cut off the edges which is very easy to do and it's free, that's way better than spending $125+ on an ap2 beam.

If you could take pics that woils be great.

Thanks for letting me know about the metal piece behind the bumper. I'm keeping all my stock parts incase a stock S2000 is worth coin someday, maybe I'll buy part 11, maybe I'll grind it down....hmmmmm

Also the grills are different between ap1 and 2s correct? Part 3
