So I've been searching around and didnt really find an answer to this. I found this clip showed up many times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZBFaS1-704 and that was on a AP2. I was wondering if it would sound the same on an AP1 (with a berk 2.5" tp or another brand).

Theres a clip with an ap1 with the test pipe. I personally think it sounds good. I've got a test pipe on my stock ap1 and I love the sound

they are are pretty much the same thing, so yes the sound the same.

 

Well, not if you buy one of the resonated ones. The berk and invidia are both straight pipes, where as some of the other test pipes have a buldge in it that has a resonator. That way its free flowing but doesn't make any noise.

 

i have a berk test pipe on my AP1 and am running stock exhaust.

I think it sounds pretty good as long as you dont mind a few burbles..i found that when i shift at high vtec rpm's there is a bit of raspy/burbling noise.

 

pretty much a test pipe is always just a straight pipe to replace the cat. i said they are "pretty much the same" meaning they are similar. most people buy just a straight pipe to replace the cat and usually the only difference is is they have the CEL fix or not.
