AP2 V1 Wheels Help me pick a powdercoat color
This is going to be one of my next mods once I wear out my current set of tires. Since they have to be balanced and all that stuff there is no use in pulling the tires off now and wasting money...Anyway, as the title states my S2K is an '05 with the stocker AP2 V1's...I love the look of the Porsche GT3RS with the psychadelic color schemes (ie: silver car w/Takata green rims or Repsol orange rims), and I would not want to copy the entire theme by any means because it's just hard to pull it off like a Porsche can.
But I do think I could pull off an off the wall color on my Sebring Silver. Would be cool do have it look a little different than the classic blacked out or gunmetal look. I am leaning towards a Repsol (fluorescent) Orange (the orange version of Takata green) lol...so any vote or comment is appreciated...thanks in advance

Personally, I wouldn't do it cause I think it looks tacky, and yes, that goes for those GT3s too. Call me boring but gunmetal would draw more appreciated stares than any skittle colors. Dont do black rims though, theyre the worst. I guess Im just old now....usually I associate wild neon colors with the kids that are also doing "hellaflush" shit too.

Yes, people say powdercoating the wheels can weaken them. I still highly doubt a rim will break from normal use just from being powdercoated. Nobody has ever proven that. You hit a wheel hard enough, it will break/bend. Most people just go off what they hear, not facts. I powdercoat alot of my own parts, and have some friends with their wheels done with no problems. I say if you dont really track that car, go for it. I would say just a slightly darker silver than the sebring would look cool. Right between sebring, and gunmetal.
