Default ARC Shiftknob and Threadlock

Hi,

I've just purchased an ARC Titanium shift knob and didn't like the fact that it came loose while driving :S I went to look for threadlock to secure it in place but they were all metal on metal. (The ARC has plastic threading inside)

I was just wondering if there was any type of threadlock I can use for this scenario or any other ideas on how to keep the knob from loosening.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Did you use the retaining nut that came with the OEM shift knob? I've had my ARC for over 18 months and never had a problem with it coming loose. It could be also that you might have over tightened it to the point where it might need to be re-threaded. In any case I wouldn't want to use thread lock in case you had to drop the tranny or do any work in the future.

Thanks JDMQuip yeah I`m pretty sure I`m not going the threadlock way. Ive been reading some horror stories about getting it off. As well I havent used the retaining bolt I dont think it would actually work. Finally I think the issue wasnt over tightning but rather not tightning it enough. I tightned it more and it seems fine ... if it loosens again im thinking maybe teflon tape.

Thanks Again
