I just took mine off and notice no power gain with the factory air box.

The sound from the box alone is worth the price =)

When you are at 8000rpm and on a race track...I really doubt the air is slow enough to be affected too much by the warm aluminum intake box.

It is a truly beautiful piece - I think I just want something a bit more civilised....gosh i'm getting old

^ Thats what I try and tell people, Do they realy think the air is "hanging out" in the intake long enough to get hot wile driving down the road.

Yesterday it was around 50-55'F outside. I did a 20 min run down some "backroads". These included some tight slow speed curves and some long straights @100+ mph. Once I got back home I poped my hood. I felt my arc box and chamber and could not find a area that felt hot to my hand. It felt cool. I do have the back of my box wraped with heat reflective tape. I think that theres alot of people on this site that have never had or driven a car with the ARC setup that are quick to call it crap. Many of my friends have tube style CAI and they love how my car feels with the arc intake. I still plan to get the J's intake one day but the Arc intake is not as bad as most people that have never had one, make it out to be.

Ihad the ARC box many years ago. I live in NY so the traffic in Manhattan forced me to sell it because of the heatsoak. Otherwise it did make some nice sounds. I got mine used.. I wasnt baller or crazy enough to pay full price.
