ASM Rear Over Fender Question
Alright so i'm not 100% sure that I have posted this is the right area but here is my question. I got a set of ASM rear over fender flares and I was talking with the body shop that is going to paint and do the install of them for me and he was telling me about how if we do cut the fender to give the wheels more space that it will over time the oem fender will crease due to body flex. He expained it to me like if you have a soda can and cut the top and bottom off of the can the metal is going to become very weak and want to crease. So that is my questions if I do cut my fender will my oem fender crease and get all messed up over time from body flex?
Thanks!
Thanks!
From looking at pictures of other members doing this. When they cut the quarter panel, they welded both sheets of metal together at the cut. Weld as in spot weld. If you don't cut your quarter panels, having over fenders don't look right, if your wheels don't require them.
