Default just cut for asm over fenders. need opinions

Just grew some balls and cut up my fenders yesterday. Theres a inner fender that im not sure what to do with... paint it and leave it, weld it and paint it, or something else. Theres about an inch gap from my fender and inner fender so idk how I should weld it together if I choose to. Welding is not a problem for me bc I have one in the garage. So what do u guys think I should do?

Btw: I used "rivnuts" instead of rivits to attach the over fender bc its easier to remove the over fender if I had to.

Yea I seen that. I just never knew how to take off the fender off the inner fender. All I see is everyone just cutting but not showing how to really take off the fender without the inner fender attached

Interested in knowing what you end up doing, although welding it back together seems like a valid option.
