NAPA does a private label rebranding of the Deka batteries. This may be an easier way to get your hands on a battery rather than shipped.

Not sure if it will fit the S2K (may have to check it out when my battery dies), but I always used Optima Deep Cycle Marine batteries (Sears has a GREAT off-brand version) in my buggies. Those batteries would run a winch, electric welder, tools, whatever, and take a freakin' beating. Not really sure what they weigh compared to other batteries out there, but I just wanted to throw that out there as an alternative long-life battery that few people ever think of.

Come to think of it, it would be a perfect battery to stick in the trunk!!

Do you have any info on what Napa relabels the various Deka models? I want a Deka ETX-16. But the Napa site doesn't have much info and the guys at the shop don't konw.

My deka ETX-14 crapped out on me so I ran to advanced auto and got a bla bla -16 battery and it seems to do just fine. I'm replacing it with a lipo one though.

Love my PC680 I'm running one currently without issue (I ran one PC680 on my old AP1 as well; was still working perfectly after 2 years of use when I sold the car)

I d didn't get that deep into it. You need to look at the stats of the NAPA off-road (quad, etc) batteries and compare the stats agains the Deka website.

I gave up on the lightweight stuff and went with an Optima yellow. Got a smokin deal from Advance auto that I couldn't pass up.

I am wholeheartedly going to recommend an Odyssey battery for three reasons.

1. I used to work at a boat harbor, we used a Yacht battery to jump start boats around the marina, it weighed about 120lbs. Total PITA. Later we switched to a 40 lb odyssey battery that required much less charging and was obviously much easier to lug around the marina lot and docks.

2. The local Jet Ski shop (one of the best on the west coast, "The Ski Clinic") refuse to use any but Odyssey batteries. They also build their own backflip jet ski hulls and full race skis.

3. I bought a $120 odyssey battery for my 1993 550sx Standup Jetski. Anyone that has spent time with a 20 year old 2-stroke knows that you need to be able to crank for a long time, as they are a pain to start. In addition standups vibrate like crazy being large 2-strokes, and the batteries have to put up with that and constant full splashdowns as most standups are constantly taking on water through the intake baffles of the engine hood.

For those of you who don't use your S on a daily basis and are concerned about battery drain, Sears has DieHard Platinum 6V/12V Battery Charger and Maintainer for $22.99 today. You add it to your cart to get that price. LINK HERE
