Berk High Flow Cat
Hello Everyone,
I have a 2007 S2 and was considering getting the Berk test pipe. I spoke to the guys there at Berk and they almost guarantee me that the CEL will pop up... The reccomended getting thei high flow cat, because it will not throw a CEL and the performance gain is vey similar.
Has anyone used this Cat on an 07? Does it give it a sound like the regular test pipe? And is it worth not having the light on and just getting the Cigh Flow Cat?
Thanks!!
Claudio

I purchased the Berk test pipe right after buying my '06 along with an after market exhaust system. I installed the exhaust but decided at the time to wait on the TP for possible service and warranty reasons and the fact that I might have to return my car to the dealer for something yet unknown.
Since then ,many of the later models of the S reported CEL's even though the Berk had the extended sensor bung.
I'm now waiting on the HFC which is only a slight compromise and I think a much better choice then dealing with anti-foulers and possible problems associated with dealer services. The HFC also keeps the car legal for emmisions (I think).
Anyone want to buy a new TP?

I don't have an 07 or a TP, but I wouldnt want a CEL on all the time on my car - what if something is truely wrong with the engine but you keep driving assuming its just the TP. HFC is the way to go IMO.
Thanks Guys!! All i needed was a little assurance!! haha And you are right, if something else goes wrong, i would never know thinking it was because of the Test Pipe. And for the sacrafice of only 1 hp or so.... I dont think im anywhere near the point where each HP means much!!
Thanks again all for all of you opinions!!

Can't comment on the sound change from stock with the addition of the high flow cat, but when I added to my car, which already had an Invidia V3 dual exhaust, it made the exhaust noise louder in general, but nearly eliminated the highway "drone" that comes along with the invidia.
I have a 2006, and no test pipe smell and no CEL.

i have the Berk High Flow cat on my 2007. yes, there is a slight change in the exhaust sound but it is not very noticable to the average person.
it's legal and i have NO CEL's this makes it worth the price IMHO.
