Default Bolt ons for your buck?

Ok, so I've been browsing the forums for a few hours now constantly running searches and reading tons of topics on it.

My s2k is a 2k with just over 60k miles. I know I will end up swapping the OEM filter/box with either a K&N or JR cold air. Mainly so I can hear the car suck the air, I know I will not get much gain from it, but it will please my ear.

Now with the exhaust, should one stick with the dual or run a solo? I know on my v6 accord I opted for a solo and enjoy the growl all throughout it's power band. I'm not 100% sure since these two upgrades will be just about all I want to do to the car since I feel it is rather perfect minus the lacking exhaust note.

Should one get a full system from the headers back, or can one do the traditional (broke as hell being a single father) aspect and just chop the mufflers off and add a named brand sticking out the back?

Oh and I know this is totally off topic right here, but what in the hell can one do with the factory speakers? I noticed Honda screwed us Audio gurus over by making the door panels tight.

The answer to all your questions is: Do whatever you want, it's your car.

Usually you can get more power from a single over a dual catback system. You can also get more power if you use a test pipe and even more power if you get headers. Make sure you just buy quality parts otherwise you'll just be paying for sound and losing money.

Also, another mod some people on this forum do is the uk exhaust mod. It can make the car sound really good while keeping the stock look of the exhaust.

If you're a broke as hell single dad, you probably shouldn't be modding your car TBH but...

There's zero proof "singles make more power" than duals on s2000's. Most cheap singles, will outperform most poorly crafted duals, but that's only an issue with poor construction (small secondaries); duals with 2.5" secondaries like the Asura don't run into the same issues as the Invidia or Greddy's or Mugen's of the world.

Do whatever you want with your car.

yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup.

what do you want out of the car? what is it for? if it's a dd I wouldn't get a full exhaust unless you don't mind it being loud. Keep the header, go from cat to tip. You can humor yourself with an intake but gutting it with a k&n would be just fine, after all you're just looking for a 'noise'.

good luck. btw, there are countless threads like this one already. if the search engine on here doesn't help you find stuff it's because it sucks. however, use google and just enter the keywords your looking for and add 's2ki' and BANG!

Aye, I have made it my daily driver and let the accord sit until I have to get my other two girls. I really don't mind the loud drone considering that's all the v6 accord does with the single...granted I have a little over 3k watts in the trunk so I rarely if ever hear the exhaust note in that car lol.

I've been looking at that UK mod and it seems right up the alley on how I'd want the car to sound. I'll opt in for the 1.5" since that's closer to what I'd want it to sound like. Thanks for the help folks, and of course after a few beers in and doing the google search to make it do the work for me in the forums...I've found plenty of resources for my issues.

Oh and being a single dad is alright, I say I'm broke as hell...but I always say that if I don't have a nest egg to sit on that's of healthy size

Thanks all!
