Default Boring Throttle body...

I've used MaxBore (http://maxbore.com/index.html) before on my B-series build, and had great results... especially since it was only $100 or so

but, wasn't sure about doing it for the S2000. They said they can bore out the stock S2000 TB to 65mm, anyone ever done this yet?
what kind of gains did you see if so?
Looking at a stock AP2 (well, one with a test pipe).

Well needs to be tappered you dont want a lip, also depending on what you do enterance to the intake manifold needs to be matched.

Look at spoons V2 venturi TB, I'd love to see a dyno graph with a spoon v2 venturi TB vs stock i really would.

Also the fact the TPS needs setup correctly too.

at 2.5x the cost of maxbore... for doing essentially the same thing (except 64mm for SoS vs. 65mm for MaxBore).

Nice find! Not that I wouldn't trust MaxBore, just that King has been around longer... and isn't that much more than the MB piece.

thankfully, I've got a '04... so $150 for me.

thanks for the info!

I think I'm going to use MaxBore for my TB. I've been wanting to get my TB bored since I'm PnPing my IM. Seems very reasonably priced with good workmanship. Once I get the TB back I can have my buddy port match the opening. Thanks for the info guys!

^How is the butterfly with maxbore? Does it stick at all? Some aftermarket butterflies have that problem.

I can't speak to the difference in price, but it's worthwhile noting that we machine new throttle plates for our throttles with a special taper on the edges. Unlike others including the throttles from other vendors mentioned which I have personal experience with, they will not gall into the housing of the throttle body. Ours also are the only ones that have the shafts and housing machined to accept o-rings for maximum seal. It appears there is quite a bit more work that goes into the ScienceofSpeed throttle body.

regards,
