Boring Throttle body...

The OP mentioned picking up a header and intake at the same time - that's half of the supporting mods right there.
But, true, most people aren't going to just install a bored TB... but, thats not the point. The point is, the SOS TB, in itself, hasn't proven to make 6hp over stock.
[QUOTE]I would recommend the SOS TB.
To be honest angryScotsman the only TB I have used is the SOS TB I picked up in Oct. Wasn't looking at any TBs or exhausts or even headers for the simply fact that it's hard press to beat stock parts on the S. Things so tuned from the factor not many parts make a difference for the price they sell for (anything JDM = overprice to me).
Since I plan on going FI and then deciding to go high boost I figured I'll start picking up parts that can help in the flow and exiting of air to help achieve my goals. The SOS TB I picked up used and off the borads here looked like a quality bore job done to the stock TB and I did notice a nice improvement in the rpms' and throttle response when driving home from LI.
I was just giving the OP my opinion that the SOS is a very nice TB from my own personal experience but like all parts for all cars it's not the end all. I just figured I would again give the OP my opinion and also help out a great sponsor off of here and a quality shop with quality parts that are true and tested.
Like everything there are a ton of options when it comes to modding (especially on the S) cars and most people tend to want to hear people's responses and feedback on certain brands to help narrow down their decision's. Again was just voicing my opinion on this practical brand TB. Thanks.
Mike
(side note - in Oct I also picked up a legalis R exhaust, DC headers and 63.5mm berk high flow cat (which will pair nicely to the legalis). Just recently sold the DC header and picked up a ceramic first racing 4-1 header with 50mm primaries which will fit better for my power goals on my s/c. So I didn't just do the TB without planning the accompanying mods ahead of time - end note)

No he didn't.

What other TBs have you used?

I thought I was in a different thread where TB's were being discussed.
Bottom line, though, is that after all other bolt-on power mods are done (I/H/E), this $250 (from SoS) mod is worth approx the same as a J's header. Pretty good value for the money
YMMV.
Has anyone measured the opening on the intake manifold for a DBW AP2? I found a thread where someone measured the AP1 IM to be 62.5 mm. I just want to figure out how much grinding I'll have to do to install a 64 or 65 mm TB on my '08.
