Default Bride Vios III install question

For those familiar with this seat - for a drivers side install only (pass. side stayin stock) are new seat rails required or do the stock ones fit? Also, regarding the weight sensor, will it work to unbolt the unit from the stock seat and place it on the floor beneath the Bride and retain airbag function?? Anything else to be concerned about regarding airbag and the driver's side w/ the vios iii? Also, for anyone whose sat in one how do you like it? Opinions on fitment for a 5'7"/150# guy of athletic build? Car is not a daily but I'd like a seat with enough comfort for the 2.5 hour drives to/from the track. Thanks!

I have the same seat...you do need rails and I'm pretty sure the weight sensor is only on the passenger side...which i have yet to make work so there is no airbag for the passenger..(if someone knows how to bypass the sensor to retain the passenger airbag let me know because transferring the weight sensor is too hard..and then having to get it recalibrated by honda is not what I want to do)

there is a driver side position sensor which you can take off and plug in and keep right under the seat (I'm pretty sure this will retain the air bag..someone correct me if I am wrong)...I have yet to do this also as I only put in the seats a little while ago..but it needs some type of weird torque wrench to get it off the stock seat

Either way i havent been driving the car...but I am the exact same build and height as you and i love my seat. It makes it feel like a different car imo. I have only taken it on journeys less that 100 miles but loved it during that time..the only thing because it is a racing seat and it has high side bolsters you can't spread you legs as much..not much of a problem but find myself trying to move a lot..should be perfect for the track and drives to the track

also will you be running harnesses with a cage?..or stock seatbelts...because i'm using the stock seat belt now and it sucked to make it work

i personally would not run a harness without the cage...and i got some no brand rails from a friend who had this seat..which were horrible to get in and had a hard time lining them up..i would get some good rails from a known sponsor

What did it take to get the stock belts to work?? Not as simple as just bolting back in?

you can take the seatbelt off and bolt it to the rail (as long as it has a place to bolt it to). i used a Buddy Club rail on my Vios III, and yes its a pain to get it to line up right.

This seat is easily the best mod for the car besides an exhaust (imo). I put my stock seat back in for winter and it isnt as fun

I also noticed that my lower back doesnt feel too good, the Bride kept me perfectly upright. I guess the stock seat doesnt have enough lumbar support for me?

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll prob be ordering 1 very soon. Does $400 sound reasonable for a new one (single, not a pair)?

Also, not sure I understand the aversion here of running harnesses w/out a cage. Don't see any issues personally...
