If that's all it is, then I'll save about $2000 and just do that myself, you know?

Edit: I'm not trying to say the PuddyMod diffs aren't worth it, I am just the curious type and want to know what the real difference is, and what makes a stronger diff stronger.

Just to let you know, there is more to what I do and what I put into a differential to improve on its performance and strength than your personnel conclusion.
I build a few levels of rear ends that range from basic improvements to a fully reinforced unit. Depending on a persons needs and performance expectations I can build to suit.

You are welcom to PM me if you have questions on differentials and what you can expect out of one.

So true, driver error is the biggest cause of differential drive train failure. Installing a over aggressive clutch is also a big issue....

I have heard nothing but good things about the Puddymod diffs. If I ever decide to make more hp than stock, that will be the direction I take. The increased strength, as well as the time, precision, knowledge and piece of mind with a Puddymod diff is what you are paying for. It might sound easy on paper to build a stronger rear differential, but I can assure you that it is not.
