Default CAI

Hi, im new to S2KI, i just got a used stock 2002 s2k from the dealership. What is the easiest way to boost the power of the car. Will a simple cold air intake give it a boost? do i have to have it tuned if i changed the filter? I need your input im a newbee. Thanks

please do some searching. i hate feeding answers, while i have to use the search bar to get my answers to my questions. hell, my wonderful girlfriend (future wife) search for extended for mats and bought them for me. if she can search for her answer, so can you. and she is not even a car person.

judging from your post. sounds like you dont have a lot of money. that would put you in a limited number of intakes. so the short answer is no. tune, no. easiest way to get boost is to go boost or NO2.

if you want a lot of power while staying N/A then be prepared to dish out a lot of money. i have. i have easily spent over 5,000 dollars on my car. and that got me to 235 whp or 293ish crank hp. there is no "easy" way.

Yep....with a CAI (Injen), exhaust, and tuned via FlashPro...I'm putting down 221/156.

I'd like to get the claimed 237/162 at the wheels, but I'm not going to dish out the $$$ to get there. Like ans2k said...takes a lot of cash and work to get more power N/A.

Read the countless existing intake threads.

If you're looking for cheap performance for the S then track or autocross is your most cost effective (and most overlooked) option. Few S owners are really capable of taking their car to their limits properly.

another suggestion is, because this car wasn't really designed for crazy hp (you can still do it) you can concentrate your money on suspension and handling. that's what a lot of NA people do with some bolt on mods (exhaust, intake) if i was to get an intake it would pretty much just be for sound and throttle response. but if you are looking for power, go FI. i've read sos supercharger is pretty awesome

s2000's are for turning not going straight, if you wanna go straight fast buy a differant car or get 10k to blow.

This is basically what I've done. Simple bolt-ons, good (not cheap) set of coilovers, and tune. Just adds a bit of polish to a great package.

lol i get negs for my answer. children... just because noobies are lazy and dont want to search, they make hundreds of these stupid threads saying, what can i buy to make a million whp and not spend alot of money. there is a whole sub-forum for N/A. look it up. like a said there is no easy way to make power staying N/A. i spent thousands of dollars only to barely keep up with a 300 whp s2000 while he spent half of what i did. you want all out power, go boost. you want a little more pepiness, go gears. you want to stay N/A and keep up with FI, make it rain money!
