Default California - Radiators

Just throwing this out there as I am not up-to-date with the laws in California.

Looking to replace my radiator soon to either Mishimoto or Koyo. But are either one California legal I ask since it seems like nothing is legal anymore in CA. wondering if they will start enforcing air freshers in car as it can be hazardous to o-zone.

I don't see why a radiator would be a problem as it has nothing to do with emissions.

I have never been bothered about my Mishimoto in 9 years.

I have a Koyo it does not mess with any laws you will be fine
Make sure you get a real Koyo cap as the OEM Honda will not fit the Koyo Rad.

Only thing laws care about will be forced induction; Loud Exhaust; will get you noticed and pulled over due to None Carb Legal parts
The worst issue in CA will be if you get pulled over for a cop the odds of you car getting State Ref'ed
As far as smog you can't touch your ECU and need to have carb legal parts and a OEM cat you will be fine. They plug into your OBD 2 reader and if they don't see a stock ECU info ect you get flagged. Hondata is now running into this issue.
They don't make it fun to mod a car in CA.

I'd recommend getting a HKS 1.1 bar cap for the Koyo

Aftermarket radiators are legal. I've had my Koyo for years and it's still going strong.

Thank all, these CA laws are getting ridiculous as I rarely drive my 05 AP2 anymore. I am just trying to stay out of the radar

On those occasions when I see a problem with "shipping to California", a phone call order usually solves the problem. I have done that for a pool pump electric motor (illegal because is a single speed) replacing the identical original motor, tools that are anodized (evil despite made in the USA but China ones are no problem at Harbor Freight), Tru Oil finish and all manner of paints, solvents, varnishes, cleaners. You name it.

A phone call leaves no electronic trail as much as an online order.
