usually spray tint is used on tail lights or side markers but feel free to use it on the rear window, it'll be far cheaper than stick on tint...

I tinted my rear glass myself and did it on the inside. It's really not that hard at all. You place it on the outside first to cut it it. Then peel the backing off and use the spray solution to align it properly on the inside. Just take your time, if you try and rush it will not turn out well. Mine has been on for 2+ years, and there are no signs of peeling, bubbles, or scratches. If you're using precut film than it should be a total breeze. Personally, I wouldn't put it on the outside & would never ever try to spray it...but that's just me.

diy tint is like what, $10-$20? you can mess up a lot of times before you get up to where a tint shop would charge (but they'd do it right on the first shot)...
