Default Can't chose between these exhausts, please help

Hey all

I'm doing a lot of research for a single exhaust for my s2000. As seen as I do not want to spend any more than $1000, I have narrowed my choices down to these:

GReddy TI-C 70mm Single ($760)
GReddy SE Single ($670)
Invidia N1 Single ($525)
J's Racing 70 RR ($1000)
Berk 3" (I can't find a price on this but I think they are under 1000)

My top priority is power gain, however sound is also important to me. However all these exhausts seem to sound good on youtube videos.

My favourite in sound (going by videos) is the GReddy TI-C. However, I think it is designed for turbo s2000's and am worried about losing power if I purchase this exhaust with my S2K being N/A'd. Can anyone give me any info on this? Also, any info on how it sounds in real life would be great.

As I said, my top priority is power gain. While I do not like the look of the J's 70RS or the GReddy SE, I think they both sound great and if they give better power gains than the TI-C, then I will buy one of those 2 instead. I also like the Invidia, but I have read that they are droney.

So what I'm trying to find out is:
Which of these exhaust will give me the best power gains
And any info that can be given on how they sound in real life

Also - if there are any exhausts I have missed that are under $1000 that you think I should consider please let me know.

It's a hard choice when it comes to s2000's and picking an exhaust

J's 70rr is the best (but really loud) but they retail for a lot more than 1000. You might be able to get a used one for around 1000.
The t1r 70mm singles are really nice too and I believe they are around 700-800.

The J's Racing 70rr is $1000 on gotuning.com

I just read about the T1R in another thread (I'm researching like a mofo). It seems very similar to the Greddy TI-C, sounds nice too, now I have to chose out of 5

I don't like the sound of the 70RR much and I really hate the dip look (I know most people love it but I don't) unless it gains around 5+ WHP over the others then it will probably be the first to cross off the list.

If you are just bolting it on you wont get a huge feeling of gained power. Replacing the cat with a test pipe/HFC will give you the best gain, so if you get one of the exhausts that isnt headerback (like the berk or 70RR) you should get a matching size test pipe. No exhaust you listed will make you lose power just bolting it on.

I've owned the Invidia, greddy Ti-C and the Berk, and i'd recommend the berk. It's also only like $600 new for the headerback version (no hfc). It's pretty loud, but it has the least drone of those 3, IMO.

Oh you were looking at the stainless version- I was thinking titanium. The 70rs would be a good choice too (quiter) but if you do not like the look then why get it. I used to have a titanium j's 60rs, it took a couple days to get used to the appearance but then I fell in love with it- if it wasn't for going turbo I would have kept it.

invidia 70mm with a 70mm test pipe is what I'm running and after a year and a half I still love it everytime I get on it. top end gains were pretty good too, from my "butt dyno"

sorry guys, I forgot to mention that I will be installing a test pipe with whichever one I go with. Is it better to get a 60mm TP or 70mm?

I found a dyno comparison in another thread of the Invidia N dual exhaust and the GReddy TI-C. The Greddy had gain of roughly 5 WPH and 10 FP of torque over the N1 dual.
I'm not sure how the N1 single compares with the TI-C and am currently trying to find info on this.

I looked into the T1R and it sounds raspy in my opinion, I hate raspy exhausts. Also the J's can be crossed off the list, dc2 is right, if i really don't like the look of it, why buy it?

As for the Berk 3" and the Greddy sE, well the Berk is probably my favorite sounding out of all the exhausts I have listed (going by videos here), but i really don't like the look of the massive muffler that comes with these choices.
I much prefer the "hotdog" look that you get with the TI-C and the Invidia N1.

All in all, in the end it will probably come down between these 2, you guys are right, the power gains they give probably won't be much different between each other.
Any more info on sound of the N1 and the TI-C would be great, how are they in terms of drone (keeping in mind I will have a TP on)? Which sounds better in real life?

I like loud but not too loud, and I don't want any raspy noise at all.

Also, has anyone bought an exhaust off gotuning.com before? Any feedback?
