has anyone ever try gutting out the cat converter? will anything go wrong if your cat is gutted?

people have done it. it'd be easier to just install a straight pipe. you would just need to put a spacer/spark plug defouler between the o2 sensor and the place it screws in to.

You might want to consider a test pipe just in case you ever have to have an emissions test, you could still put the cat back on. Test pipes are cheap.

I won't use one, but I would buy a Berk Cat for $250 because I like trees and bunnies and such.

I have. It took me about 6 hours to get it completely gutted. I personally like it more than a testpipe. The resonance makes it sound louder than a regular or resonated testpipe.
