Default CDV and ACT HDSS

i was wondering if there was any good reason to keep the CDV in after you install an aftermarket clutch. would the CDV defeat the reason of getting the clutch?

No reason to keep it with the stock clutch so I see no reason to keep it with an aftermarket clutch.

It definitely isn't protecting your clutch...it is slipping the hell out of it. It's not really protecting the flywheel from anything either. It is protecting your diff from shock, which caused diff failures in the AP1.

Removing the CDV does make a big improvement in the drivability in the AP2, IMO.

i agree i did this on my stock clutch, its there to prevent shock to the rear as negcamber states, to many kids abuse the car by doin burn outs so honda would rather have them burn there clutch which is not covered under warantee than replacing the rear, but if u dont "beat" the car then take it out, even if u have a aftermarket clutch and u take it out but still beat the car, you will eventually do something to the diff.

put it this way, you beat on it without the cdv then be prepaidd to eventually change the diff, you beat on it with the cdv and new clutch be prepaird to change ur clutch out again sooner than you have to

if the CDV is there with after-market clutch you are pretty much defeating the purpose of buying a stronger clutch. a High RPM shift will still cause the CDV to kick in because the pressure will still be there regardless of what clutch is in.
I have stock clutch with ~45k and i will be removing mine shortly. only reason i didnt do it sooner is because it was winter time and there was no reason for it to come out right now.

The CDV protects the driveline from shock. That's a great reason to keep it.

I question everyone who claims the CDV needs to be removed as its never been established to hurt any part of the car's performance.

Go dump the clutch on a 4k 3rd to 4th shift and tell me if you feel any delay.
