Are you sure it's the resonator and not the catalytic converter?
Sounds like you should retrace all your grounds and make sure the connections aren't spotty.
If you're talking about temp on an AP1, you should NOT see anything higher than THREE temp gauge bars. If you're seeing FIVE, you could be frying something. Flush coolant and check for functioning thermostat.

I just got this same problem with my yellow jacket, and its happened before but it went away on its own. I think it is a flawed product.
Also you should not see more then 3 bars on your ap1 coolant gauge, that could mean serious problems like overheating, which can cause permanent damage. Personally if I saw a 4th bar come on I would turn the car off and pull over asap and figure out whats wrong.
