Default CF Trunk

I have a CF trunk from the previous owner and there are two things I'd like to do:

1. The springs were removed because they completely overpowered the now lighter trunk, so now the trunk won't stay open on its own. Has anyone created some kind of a prop or perhaps a weaker set of springs?

2. The fitment isn't quite perfect, as the left fwd corner sits up a little high (by about 1/16"). Has anyone ever adjusted the fitment by adding washers? Is there a better way to adjust the fitment?

You can put one of the springs back in which will be enough to hold it up but not enough to make it spring up when popped...this is how mine is setup now

for #2, adjust the rubber stoppers on each side by turning them. they go up and down.

adding washers will make the trunk sit higher.

The problem with the rubber stoppers is that the fitment problem is at the front edge near the hinge, and the rubber stoppers are at the back edge, where the fitment is already perfect. So, I need the front edge to sit lower while keeping the back the same. Does anyone know of a way of adjusting just the front?

Adding a washer definitely is not ideal, as socal said adding two would make it sit higher, and i might get some adjustment by adding just one, which would adjust the tilt, but this seems like a bad way to do things.

I use to leave one of the trunk springs in the trunk to use as a prop From what I heard and was told even putting on trunk spring in can eventually warp the trunk.

You can try adjusting the trunk by lossening the two bolts that attach the trunk to the trunk hinge and play with the fitment to see if it give you a better fit, like seeing if that side of the trunk will sit further back. Usually if you remove the trunk springs it will give you the best fit...so it could be your cf trunk might be slightly warped.

I have the same issues. I can live with it, but if someone would make a prop, that would be sweet!

ive heard that by only using one trunk "spring" that it can warp the trunk..

Any truth behind this?

I took an oxy-acetelyne torch to my trunk springs while twisting them. That way, they had less spring to them. Works great, but unfortunately my crappy quality cf trunk that came with the car still sits crooked.
