Check Fuel Cap Warning ON

Check Fuel Cap Warning ON
Hi guys, I have a 06 ap2 with around 45k miles.
Tonight, When I started my car, the Check Fuel Cap warning was on my dash. (I haven't started the car for the past 2-3 weeks)
NO ENGINE CHECK light, nothing was on with Check Fuel Cap warning.
After I got this warning, I went to re-tighten the cap multiple times, and re-start the car. The warning is still there.
Never had this issue before, But I have heard from my friend, which he used to own an AP1, that fuel cap will not tight up properly? But I think AP2 fixed this issue already?
I did some research online, and most of them had Engine Check Light on with the Check Fuel Cap warning. And some of them said will go away in couple days with regular driving.
Please let me know what I can do. Anything would help.
Thanks!

After a few driving cycles if the cap is not defective, the light will go away... if the cap is defective it will turn into a check engine light (believe it's evap leak small, or something similar). I've had this happen on my 06 as well, and eventually replaced the cap and the issue went away. From what I have gathered, with age (not miles) the components that allow the cap to get a proper seal detiriorate/harden and these "small" evap leaks become common.

I found this in an obscure, secret Honda document (yeah, it's the 2006 Owners Manual). Some amazing stuff in there.

Check Fuel Cap Indicator
If your fuel fill cap is loose or
missing, a ‘‘CHECK FUEL CAP’’
message appears on the information
display after you start the engine.
The message goes from CHECK to
FUEL, then to CAP repeatedly. You
will also hear a beep.
Turn the engine off, and confirm the
fuel fill cap is installed. If it is, loosen
the cap, then retighten it until it
clicks at least once. When you
restart the engine, the message
appears again. To clear the message,
press and hold the RESET button
until the odometer display returns.
If the system still detects a loose or
missing fuel fill cap, the malfunction
indicator lamp (MIL) comes on.
Turn the engine off, and check or
retighten the fuel fill cap until it
clicks at least once. The MIL goes
out after several days of normal
driving once the cap is tightened or
replaced. If it does not go out, have
your dealer inspect the vehicle. For
more information, see page 183 .
