Okay I took the car out for an afternoon cruise. Parked it at the house for several hours. Then took it out for dinner. On the way home my "Check Fuel Cap" light started blinking. I checked the cap to see if it was tight and it was. I even removed the cap and reinstalled it. I also checked the manual and it also said to do the same but it may take a few trips before the light resets. BTW after a few minutes parked in the garage I could smell fuel vapors. Does this mean that the cap is bad or something is up with the emissions system?

 

When did you last fill the tank, and did you top it off?

 

It was a few weeks ago and no I did not top it off. The car is around a 1/2 tank now.

 

Same thing happened to mine back in the day bro, it took about 2-3 trips and it eventually went away.

 

it sounds like your gas cap gasket. It may be cracked or broken
