clutch decision help please
the street style clutch disc slips under super heavy pressure to keep things from breaking. the puck style won't slip and the high pressure exertion on the drivetrain could lead to failure of the weaker parts. it's happened before, anyway.
even 500hp has only about 300-350tq, depending on when it spools. your throwing a cement block at a fly you know right? buy a clutch based on the max tq you will throw at it. any street disc clutch can handle that. clutchmasters stage 3 will work, act race disc with heavy duty pressure plate, or any other companies disc clutch that can handle approx 350tq will be fine. while your at it, put a lighter flywheel, ap1 flywheel would be nice, and is compromise between super light and stock ap2.
a street disc will still break things in the driveline, but will last a lot longer then a puck clutch. puck clutchs destroy flywheels and/or chatter bad on engagement.
no matter what, your power goal will break diff/axles/trannys, thats just the pay to play factor. get a puck clutch if your gonna go 600+whp...cause i dont think they have a disc clutch that can hold 400tq.

after talking to fernando at CFT he suggested the stage 5, he is using that on 25psi 640+hp on a stock diff. its all about how youre launching. the stage 4 is only rated for 450 hp so i guess its hardcare 4puck for me!!!
