Clutchmasters Stg2 Just installed
So i just got my new clutch installed the other day and having it back its not what i expected. I got the 10lb fly wheel because every on said the act 8lb would be to extreme. Oddly enough the 10lb makes barely a difference! Maybe i Should have gotten the act one, idk. BTW i haven't really ripped on the car either these are my observations from normal driving.
The other thing is the clutch is half the stiffness of the stock one. I didnt think clutches could get lighter and its kind of annoying. Although it does grip amazing the the performance of it im happy with.
So i guess id like to know if this is how its suppose to feel? And i'm breaking it in and i have a few hundred miles on it already but i do allot of highway driving. That said i have been over 6k 2 or 3 times and its the Kevlar disk? It should be good right?
Any input would be appreciated guys!

I have a CM4 6-puck sprung clutch on my ford probe gt. As you stated, the grip is good, but the pedal feel is extremely light. However, it's beginning to slip once warmed up (only had it for about 2-3 years - 20,000ish miles).
I think the clutch will be good for awhile. I dunno why my clutch started to act this way (it was broken in properly and it's a N/A car). Reason why i put a stage 4 was because i was going boost.
I think CM uses a not so strong pressure plate.

Well I was told the pressure plate is strong but the springs are levered in a way that adds leverag to the clutch fork making the effort low. Im not sure how true this is.
As for your clutch slipping, stg4 and up tend not to last long because of how friction intence the disk is. Its like brakes, the hard core track pads work well but wear out fast. I got the stg2 because the kevlar disk is said to last 2-3 times the life of the stock one. Plus it hold 70% more tq And guys with 500hp havent doubbled ther tq in our car so im hopping im good. I didnt think id need more and for the extra life it just made sence. Another thing is i didnt want a crazy pressure plate because im scard of crank walk But i notice not many people on here went with cm. But i dont see why because when i did my research the comp clutches throw springs the act's rip the crank off, cm seemed like the way to go.

i think the reason behind your lighter pedal feel with your new clutch may be caused from lack of grease on your old clutch. after a while a stock clutch can feel very heavy due to lack of lubrication on the release fork and bearing.
after i had my stock clutch installed from, i wont name who, the clutch started getting heavy. maybe about 10K miles the clutch was heavy as a semi's clutch, maybe heavier. later a discovered the shop used the wrong grease. soon after i found that out i discovered a TSB for stick or heavy clutch pedal and used the correct grease. after the relube the clutch was super light again.
probably the same thing with you. you may have had little or no grease which made it heavy but after your new clutch install and fresh grease it felt lighter because there was no binding.
make sense? i hope so.
