Default COBRA exhaust sounds like a TVR - is that right?

Hi there,

Just bought my 2004 s2000 today and am absolutely amazed at the exhaust tone. I knew on purchasing it wasnt standard.

Anyway, I've gone from a quiet Boxster to a car that sounds like a TVR - the ground rumbled when I started it! Forget the radio inside - you can just about talk and be heard!

Can anyone confirm that an aftermarket cobra exhaust like this should generate so much noise? I mean crickey, I even pulled up on a side road near to where I live and a random neighbour popped out to see what the commotion was!

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the attention for now but I reckon this may get tiresome!

Should my S sound like a 3.5 litre TVR or is the exhaust goosed?

Thanks

Most of the US guys aren't going to know what a TVR sounds like, and I can't imagine that it will with Cobra exhaust. No exhaust is going to make this car quieter. So if it's too loud now maybe you need to head back to the dealership and pick something else.

The TVR you are thinking of is a V8, it would be hard to mistake the Ss sound with that.

The factory exhaust is very quiet. Keep the car and sell the muffler.
