Coilover Help
Hey everyone, i am new to the s2000/honda scene and new on this site, been lurkin around for a little, just picked up a suzuka blue s2000. I am looking for coils to put on and people i have talked to said to go with the buddy club n+ ones. I wanna slam this thing, roads arent to bad around here and it sits in a garage most of the time. But i heard with the buddy clubs, to really "slam" it you have to do something with preload? not sure what that means if someone could inform me? is it a hard task? also are there any other coils out there that i will be able to go really low with? like low as in 1/4-1/2" off the ground? and im not to worried about ride quality, and if there is something cheaper out there as i just spend about $3,000 on wheels so im kind of strapped, but have about $900 for coils. Thanks
$900 isn't going to get you far with coilovers for this car. I would probably go with Koni shocks and Ground control springs, and just install the shocks on the lower perch. That will let you go really low, and should only cost you about $700-800. I have Zeal Function B6s on mine, and they drop ridiculously low. They're like $2200 new though.
I've had buddy clubs for 10k miles so far and not one issue. I've heard lots of bad things about these coilovers but I can speak for myself when I say these are good. I also don't hit potholes and avoid bad roads. Just my opinion. Good luck
I have the BC Racing BR type coil overs. You can get them from sponsors on here for around 1200-1300. They are amazing. Car rides excellent, has a nice rake and performs excellent at the track. I'm running 12k front and 10k rear springs. Buddy drove the car who has much nicer tein coil overs and said my car felt awesome.
