im planning to get the Fujita F5 .. but unless i get the paranoia of hydrolocking out of my head, i might just end up with the K&N ... ive heard good things about the Fujita .. but is hydrolocking fact or fiction?? how hard or easy is it to 'hydrolock'?
I live in Houston and we get quite a bit of rain and flooding. Hydrolocking isn't quite the problem it's made out to be in that driving in heavy rain isn't an issue.
Driving through deep puddles is more an issue than driving in heavy rain, roads in TX suck.
I hydrolocked my engine on July 31, took out the sparkplugs and detached the intake (K&N typhoon), tried to crank it, tons of water shot out of the spark plug holes. Then I sprayed with compressed air to get more water out, crank again, more water came out, sprayed again with compressed air. Reinstalled sparkplugs, engine cranked, no harmful sounds (such as rod-knock).
Haven't driven it yet, I am going to change the oil a couple of times in case there is water in it, and replace the spark plugs.
All this to say, it's not heavy rain, it's when there are puddles and no way to avoid them. I'm not going to drive my s2000 if there is chance of heavy rain.

Definitely the Typhoon. Thats what I have, and it sounds scary good. Lol, It also freaks people out when you drive by or past them.
You feel the power around 5500 RPM, and after that is just gets louder and louder.
Its too loud to describe....
