Comptech intake or Spoon drop in filter
i just bought my first s2. GPW MY00 with 36k miles on it. anyway i wanted a nice intake to make the car sound nice and clean and maybe a little louder vtec crossover. im looking at the full comptech intake, and the spoon drop in filter with the spoon snorkel. anyone who has used either of these please leave me some feedback.
i want to know if it makes the vtec crossover any louder. and also if u actually noticed any sort of power gain
thanks guys

if you're talking about the Comptech Icebox vs the Spoon snorkel, i've driven both (i have the Spoon, and i recently drove a stockish S2k with the Comptech.
the spoon snorkel has the ram air effect, eliminates heat bog on a hot day, and does nothing for the sound.
The Comtech Icebox, makes the VTEC sound louder, but the throttle doesn't feel as responsive vs the Spoon.
If you want make VTEC sound louder, you can remove the cover of the stock airbox and see what a difference that makes, but there should be a high pitched whine that is silenced by the cover... ( i found it too annoying so i put it back on, but this was before i got the Spoon duct)
Power gain is always very subjective, because you gain so little in the S2000 from a CAI (vs other hondas, from what i've been told). The only noticable effect is the ram air effect from the Spoon duct and the similar designs of the J's intake ($$$) and the mugan intake...
If your exhaust is decently loud, you'll hear more from the back end of the car. On my Spoon N1, and if i have the test pipe on, you basically can't hear the engine much, or the VTEC crossover.
that's my $0.02 or more cents...
