Default Comptech vs K&N intake

I'm sure this has been debated many times, but the only threads I found seemed kind of old, so I thought there might be new versions and/or new information for the two.

So anyways, I've heard they're basically the same gains wise? Is this true?

I've also heard there is pretty much 0% chance of hydrolocking with either. Is that true?

Next, I've heard some say that the Comptech has fitment issues, but then others have said that, that is completely untrue and its the installers fault if it rattles/rubs or w/e.

Lastly, I was wondering which one sounded louder/better at WOT?

Any help/input is appreciated.
Thanks.

P.S.: I'll probably pair the K&N with a AUT cooling plate if I get it.

There is no chance of getting hydro lock unless you submerge your whole car in the water. As for which makes better gains, there really shouldn't be much if any of a difference. I have the K&N FIPK and like it more. It seals the filter off to the engine bay but has a nice opening in the front to get air from a cooling plate if you put one in. Sounds really nice too.
Don't know too much more about the Comptech but search around on this site and you'll find your answers.

I got the FIPK and let me tell you, it sounds amazing! It just simply screams! As stated above, well worth the money IMO! I was actually looking into comptech and was gonna go for that but this turned up, got a great deal on it and am not regreting it! As far as my research goes, comptech should be almost as stock when it comes to sound level maybe a little louder...

I like the K&N personally and is what im leaning towards. For me, I would get whatever you can obtain cheaper.
