Default cons of having a front splitter?

I'm about to order a new lip and splitter, looking to get the APR lip and the APR splitter, was wondering what are the cons of having a splitter other than installation pains.

Also, anyone have front-end recommendations? Money isn't an object in this case. AP2 oem bumper though!!

P.S., I'd love to see some of your front-end lips and combos.

I had one on my Ap1 front end, although now I don't have one and I went with an AP2 bumper it was for good reason. My car is a street car not a track car so if you do alot of street driving you may want to skip on a splitter and maybe just get a CR Lip. I say this because after entering and exiting my driveway over the course of two years I eventually wore the bottom of my wasp splitter out and the filling began to leak out. I salvaged what I could by using some fiberglass repair stuff but it honestly didn't work and I eventually parted ways with it for less than half the cost that I bought it for because It became a bigger problem than a solution for me.

I did track with it once but I never felt the difference as I blew my clutch out and had to call it a day. I can say its all in personal preference but if I had to do it all over again I would have just gone with a CR lip.

Something like the APR is probably going to get broken and knocked off due to daily driving.. I daily drove a wasp splitter which is 100x thicker than the apr and took a ton of abuse and was honestly almost too much for it.

That brings up another point too. Wasp is sturdy as hell especially if you get the race hardware, it bolts directly to the frame of the car and can withstand much abuse. With that said though it does tend to make you less aware because you wont snap it driving over a speed bump and you eventually just act as if it isn't there.

The APR is a joke compared to WASP honestly but you could do some serious damage to the car if you get the WASP chassis mounted and caught on something because i think it would take a lot to have it pulled off.

I like the idea of the wasp diffuser, but I
I think it's just too much for my needs. I don't think I'll ever track my car. I was just going to buy a splitter just for aesthetic purposes. Nice and settle but roads do suck here where I live. (Canada). But insurance is covering this as I bought my s2000 with these mods but got stolen.

If you want it for aesthetic purposes I highly suggest considering a CR lip, splitters are great for functional purposes but can be an eyesore imo. S2000's look great from the factory, maybe it's just me being old but I took a liking to the CR lip because it provides the function with an OEM look. Not to mention a urethane bumper is much more forgiving than a splitter, like Montgomery said those APR splitters are much thinner than WASP's.

Aesthetic reasons? Well, they ARE rather unattactive.

I used to have a downforce splitter under an ap2 lip and it didn't last long on normal streets. I would avoid a splitter if you drive your car on the street unless you have the best flat roads in the country. I got rid of that an got a cr lip w an Sfactor aluminum splitter and couldn't be happier since it won't crack. Contact sfactor in the NYC metro section on this forum and he can make u any type of splitter you want and it will last.
