Default convertable latch question

do your guys roof latches seem less tight on the drivers side when you latch it closed, my right side definetly has some more tension when i close it down,, is there a way to adjust them or is this normal i dont have any problems or side effects from this tough.....but i would like the driver side to be tighter

I would say that mine are both the same. My passenger side roof catch was actually very loose recently, so I tightened up the bolts that hold it in place and it has been fine ever since. I don't see any way to adjust tension on the latch, but I'd start by checking the bolts on the driver side catch (not sure of the exact terms for these parts, but it is the part that is mounted to the roll bar at the top of the windshield). See if you can wiggle it with your hand, if it is loose it will have some movement to it. If it is tight then it could need replacing as they can wear out and get grooves in them that don't allow the latch to tighten like when they are new. You could install some rubber tubing over the hook on the latch mechanism , this will give it more tightening ability. But I suspect the parts are either loose or worn.

Lastly, I lube all of the parts with grease to help reduce wear over time.
