Default cooling plates

Ok I searched and could not find the exact info I wanted. The search feature is not working so well either, I used Google to.

Ok so lets discuss some cooling plates... Do they work? I think the AUT works with the FIPK correct? Will it also work with the stock air box?

I am a new owner but I get the Idea that mods dont do much for what they cost for the S. Anyways, I do like way cooling plates look, I just dont want something that does not have a positive purpouse. From what I read you also have to remove some of the plastic shileding to install a cooling plate. If Honda has desinged this car so well, I dont want to remove something and add a cooling plate if it's not good.

I was thinking that maybe I would buy a FIPK but I am not sure, obviously it is more for sound. Thanks for the help....

Chris

most of the cooling plates i see are for some sort of aftermarket intake. so to answer your question, not worth it unless you are wanting to dress up your engine bay. here is mine for example

the whole point is to just direct air into the radiator. stock one is fine. I just liked the look of aluminum. most aftermarket ones have a vent near the airbox location to allow more air through, but if u don't have the factory airbox it's actually better to get a flat cover. more air to the radiator.

Ok so the AUT will do both correct, work with factory and also work with FIPK? I do like the look of them so i would consider gettting one, just did not want to do any harm

AUT works great with FIPK. It also works fine with stock air box.

Chris, just get a thermostat, fan switch, and rad cap if cooling is what you're looking for. I'm sure the plates do something, but IMO they are worthless.
