If you simply cut a sheet of the shiney bubble insulation (from Home Depot or Lowes) in the same basic shape as the cooling plate below, but left about 1 foot of the passenger side open, and taped around the edges with foil tape, that would perform at least as well as any cooling plate on the market.

AUT plate does nothing with the factory radiator shroud in place. AUT is just for looks otherwise. When my car was on the dyno with a large fan in front I held my hand in front of the AUT opening at the air box (stock radiator shroud still installed) and zero air was passing through the duct on the AUT. However all of the air did come from around the radiator on the side of the air box as Gernby is mentioning. I do believe it was plenty of air but yes if you wanted some ducting the side of the radiator would be the place to put it.
