Default Cooling Plate

Hi All,

Thinking about getting a K&N FIPK intake. Would a cooling plate like this improve performance?

Also, what brand is most recommend and where can I buy one? Can't seem to find any threads discussing this. Thanks.

Here is a cabing cooling plate with my fipk.

The gains isn't really noticeable and probably hard to tell even on a dyno...I would just say its mainly for bling.

I know several people think the AUT plate helps with performance but I honestly think its just a placebo effect as the AUT and the Carbing have the same concept.

Here are some pics of mine:

This Seibon came from Evasive Motorsports. It took a little Dremmel work for a nice, flat fit, but it was easy and certainly worth it.

Yeah I have one with the K&N FIPK. Real nice combo I think. The air is directed right at the filter so at higher speeds I am sure it does help some. I highly doubt it would ever show up on a dyno since it needs higher speeds to show gains. I would think it does help out slightly and it does look real nice under the hood too.

Yeah, I realize it would be 99% bling and 1% function, but I think it cleans up the engine bay nicely. So what brand do mostly people buy? Where can I buy one? Thanks!

I have heard that Church automotive tuner was telling people that cooling plates block necessary air-flow over the the engine to cool the coil-packs.

I don't know how much this affects the coil-pack temp but I hope its not drastic...

Here is a link discussing it from s2katlanta
